 3M583 Heat Tac is a heat or solvent activated dry film adhesive for bonding magnesium dies to your printing equipment. Once activated this film softens and provides a permanent bond to the surface on which it is applied. Specially formulated for bonding materials in the textile and ribbon industries.
*Bonding film 3M583 must be stored at or below 40F (4C) for maximum storage life.

| 3M583 Heat Tac - Bonding Instructions - |
To make a bond, remove liner and place the adhesive film between the two substrates. The bond is made through heat and pressure using a heated press or similar equipment. Since bonding film 3M583 has a slight surface tack, in some cases it may be tacked to a substrate with pressure only (no heat). For optimum bonding, the heat, pressure and dwell time for using 3M583 will depend upon the type and thickness of the substrates being bonded together. A suggested starting point; however is to use the bonding conditions described below. To minimize voids in the bond line, increase pressure.
225F to 300F bond line temperature
2-5seconds dwell time
15-20psi pressure
