Repulpable Splicing Tapes
3M9993 Repulpable/Splittable Flying Splice Tape - |
3M9993 is a double coated, repulpable splicing tape with a low release split liner. Splittable tape laminate that provides both tabbing & splicing tape for newspaper, retro gravure and non-heat set printing applications. Water solubility and alkali dispersability are excellent and eliminate danger of contaminating the paper mill broke with non-repulpable materials. No need for complex patterns and multiple tapes. Enables smooth splice transition and no need to angle splice. Allows for smoother splice process through the printing operation. No need to dump splices.
*Flying splice tape for most grades of paper under 150gsm (80#) in manual and automatic splicing equipment.
*For optimum results, firm, even rub down pressure must be applied to the tape area to create the best possible adhesion between the tape and paper surface. Application temperature range is: 70F to 100F. Application below 40F not recommended-adhesive may becomes too firm to adhere properly.
Carrier: Repulpable Paper
Adhesive: Repulpable Adhesives
Liner: Easy release coated repulpable paper
Splicing Side: Blue Tabbing Side
Color: Clear
Thickness: 8.3mil Bond
Strength: Excellent affinity to cellulose fibers
Repulpability: Completely*
Service Temperature: up to 400F
*Repulpability judged according to TAPPI UM-213, Procedure A. It is important to follow the weight and quantity measurements for the fiber, splicing tape and water. Non-representative results can occur if test guidelines are not followed. |
